Well, hello. It’s been so long since I’ve blogged. I just could not keep up with everything this year, but, now, I am back in the game.
A few weekends ago we hosted a backyard barbecue birthday party for my dad in my parents’ backyard. They have lived in the house for over 30 years and have a huge backyard which made it the perfect place to celebrate my dad with our family and friends. The evening came together with beautiful cafe lighting, delicious barbecue from Goode Company, and the best cake in the whole world. Of course, as far as my dad was concerned, as long as all his grandkids were there, he was happy as a lark.
My uncle bought my dad a Guayabera, and he gave it to him at the beginning of the evening so my dad could sport his new shirt. It is so out of my dad’s normal fashion (if you could call it that) wheelhouse, and I was thoroughly entertained by his new smart casual look. Also, I know I mentioned the cake earlier, but I want to emphasize how good the brownie cake with chocolate ganache tasted.
I did not have my camera for most of the evening, but I pulled it out for the cake cutting and snapped a few photos which are below. Also, the links and information for the food and some of the decorations are below the photos incase anyone is interested. You should be interested in the cake. It was so good. SO GOOD.
